My journey didn’t start with high-ranking connections. Quite the opposite. I started from scratch, with nothing but a burning passion and an indomitable spirit. And today, I stand proud, having been featured in numerous articles sharing my opinions and insights, and giving impactful interviews. It’s truly incredible how far I’ve come, considering I didn’t even graduate college. But that’s the beauty of the entrepreneurial spirit, my friend. It knows no boundaries, it thrives on passion, and it can take you places you never imagined.
JUST A TEXAS GIRL DETERMINED TO DEFINE HER OWN STORY
After graduating high school, I attempted the traditional 8-5 job route, but it never felt right. Every day, I had this nagging feeling: why was I investing so much time and effort into someone else’s dream instead of pursuing my own? What may have seemed like failures to the outside world were actually the stepping stones that ignited a fire within me.
I possess a personality that thrives on proving others wrong. If someone tells me something is stupid or impossible, I will personally invite them for a front-row seat to witness me achieve it. I knew from the start that I wanted to be a photographer, and I refused to conform to the conventional path of formal education. Instead, I reached out to a wedding photographer in Dallas and offered to intern with them. In return, I would babysit their twin 6-month-old babies. That’s right, I’m the kind of person who chases after what she wants and moves in with a family she barely knows. I spent my weekends honing my skills, teaching myself by shooting concerts and anyone willing to stand in front of my $600 camera.
After some time, I returned to Amarillo and embarked on building my clientele within the wedding industry. I worked tirelessly, simultaneously juggling my photography gigs and a day job which I wouldn’t keep for long. Quitting was never an option for me since I found myself chasing after my true calling, even while clocked in. Society’s expectations pressured me into a marriage at a young age, and I settled down with someone who was not the right match. But I soon realized that sacrificing my career for the sake of societal norms was wrong… so wrong.
I found myself trapped in an abusive “marriage.” I had nothing to my name since I wasn’t allowed to have any income of my own, completely reliant on him. One night, when I failed to meet his unreasonable demands, everything exploded. That was the last time he laid a hand on me. The blame for his actions was wrongly placed on me, but I refused to accept it.

I was faced with the daunting task of rebuilding my photography business from scratch and proving to myself and the world that I was not defined by that story. This was not where I would fall. This was not where I would let someone else determine the trajectory of my life. In those challenging times, I turned to my faith in God and held onto those promises. With blinders on, I unfollowed photographers who caused me FOMO and embarked on a journey uniquely my own. And something incredible happened; in the very first year after re-launching my career, I generated $20,000. From there, my earnings doubled every year as I poured endless effort into rebuilding my client base.
From a rock-bottom start, I persevered and transformed my business into a thriving enterprise. Today, I lead a team of photographers and am recognized not only as a talented photographer but also as a motivational speaker, regularly invited to share my insights on entrepreneurship and protecting intellectual property. Above all, I am a proud wife to an amazing man and a mother to two incredible kids. I firmly believe he was made just for me, and I cannot imagine my life without my family.

Throughout my journey, I have shed countless tears, grappled with deep-seated fears, and stumbled and failed more times than I can count. At times, I questioned why anyone would listen to me or learn from me when I wasn’t a household name in the photography world. However, what I have come to realize is that my struggles resonate with the vast majority of my fellow business owners.
The feeling of not being good enough and doubting the quality of our work is a hurdle that we all face. We all carry a story of that moment when it seemed like everything might crumble, and for some of you, that struggle is still very real. It is perfectly normal to question if you can break free from the challenges you are facing.
